No Absolutes

It’s not always important to know the end. In fact, sometimes that’s the best you can do. In order to mould the outcome and be able to experience creativity through expression, one necessarily needs not to know the end, right from inception. Undoubtedly, a focussed line of thought is required, so the direction and design of the idea should be lucid; but the focal point should be the thought. Once a notion has been conceptualised, half the battle has already been won and the other half is enveloped by the offset of work, experience and sustenance. Work, for one must put in effort to cherish the reap of what one sows. Experience, for experience itself. Sustenance, for the entirety of effort and wisdom.

Absoluteness is not necessary; to liberate the end is. Fantasy regarding the unknown is one of a special style. One must unbind from shackles of conclusion, and let lose into harmonies of pied beauty.

Strumming

“Let’s play magic!”
“Okay”
“What is it that you love the most but doesn’t exist?”
“Nothing. Everything I love, I make.”
“Wow. That’s quite a start. Let’s see if we can keep up”

“Who are you?”
“A reflection”
“What do you do?”
“I play magic”
“What? Magic? Where? With who?”
“Yes, magic, like you said. At the crossroads, with whoever asks”
“Oh that? That’s just a name I give to my quizzes”
“Yes. I understand. You will too.”
“What’s magic then, I’d ask?”
“Sunshine on water. That’s one definition”
“One definition? Are there many?”
“This you get to decide”

“Okay. You said everything you love, you make. Does it mean you love nothing eternal?”
“No.”
“Then? Does it mean you can create forever?”
“No.”
“Okay. But…? You do mean to say that everything you love can be created.”
“Yes.”
“Can you create love itself? I mean, really, can you? But you kind of said one could. Is it nothing that you love?”
“Yes. Nothing. Simple.”

“You come across as a crafty intelligent person. Is it that intelligent people love nothing?”
“No. They love everything. I love nothing.”
“So clearly you’re not intelligent”
“Who said?”
“You.”
“I didn’t”
“I don’t understand you”
“That’s not possible. As I said, I am a reflection.”
“Okay. This I know. So it means you are my reflection”
“Yes. And mine. And everyone’s”
“You wait for a minute. I know this…”

“Hm. You really get to me, you know, anyway…?”
“No.”
“..so magic is…a…It was a rhetorical question.”
“I know. That’s why”
“What was I saying? Great. Your replies require so much effort that I forget what was last…
Anyhow. I had a few questions prepared. But I guess I got caught up. Back to…yes, here”

“So. Do you believe in luck, fate, destiny and things like that?”
“No.”
“That’s alright. I don’t too…um, actually, I don’t know. Do I or don’t I? It’s really a subjective question. Anyway…You mean to say that us meeting here is merely an accident?”
“There are no accidents.”
“But you just said…
Okay. I don’t understand you.”
“That’s not possible.”

“Let me ask you this. Is life itself not an accident? I mean, I was born and I will die. I am one, but so is each of the others-one. What sense do I make? It’s an unlikely equation…but it’s not like I was supposed to be here.”
“Life is an unlikely equation. I agree.”
“Um…okay. Next question.”

“What is your opinion about truth and logic? Do the two inter-relate?”
“Definitely they don’t. Truth is objective simplicity. Logic is subjective complexity.”
“Okay. Are  truth and reality related?”
“Yes.”
“What about reality and logic. Are they?”
“Yes.”
“A is related to B. B is related to C. Doesn’t logic imply that A is related to C?”
“Yes.”
“Then why did you say that truth and logic are not inter-related?”
“Because you never told me to give a logical answer.”

“I was once a kid. And I knew nothing but that I wanted what I wanted. But then, life doesn’t work this way, you know. Others are important too. This brings me to ask- what is more important- want or need?”
“For you, want.”
“For me? What if I need something but don’t want it or vice-versa?”
“Then have patience and wait for it.”
“Wait for what?”
“Magic.”

“What is it that man really needs?”
“Food, Shelter, Fire, Wish.”
“Is it nothing more that I need?”
“No.”
“Okay. Then why is there so much misery and unhappiness if these are all that people need?”
“They are merely illusions.”
“You mean to say that what I want is what will create the illusion.”
“Yes. Illusions are what take you higher.”
“Interesting. What is high and low? How do I know? How does anyone know?”
“There is no high or low. Only higher and lower.”
“Here we go with subjectivity again…”
“Yes, relative subjectivity. Relativity.”

“I should get serious now. Do you believe in god?”
“Yes.”
“Have you seen him?”
“Yes.”
“Where does he live?”
“In you.”
“What does he look like?”
“Like a humming bird.”
“There’s a humming bird inside of me?”
“Yes. Don’t you know?”
“How ridiculous. Oh oh look! There’s also a tiger inside me, here- see?”
“Ha-ha. Yes. I see.”

“I am just going to note down your answers and read them later. Or probably just never read them, you know? But I can’t seem to shake off this conversation. I have no idea why…anyway
as I was going to ask, oh yes, very interesting. Let’s see what sly response you have for this one. Is mind or matter more real?”
“Matter.”
“Yes! So mind is just a triviality in terms of reality.”
“Yes.”
“Since matter really does exist, it is safe to assume that what we see is more real than what we think.”
“Yes.”
“So then all I think is unreal?”
“No.”
